What we process
We process the image or PDF you upload, its file type and size, a randomly generated job identifier, the extracted text, and limited technical information required to operate and protect the service. If you create an account, we also store your email address, optional display name, authentication provider, session, and current OCR credit balance.
How long we keep it
Source files are deleted after a successful extraction or terminal error. Job records and extracted text are automatically removed after 24 hours. Temporary operational logs may be retained by our infrastructure providers under their own service policies.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides hosting, private object storage, database, queue, bot protection, and delivery of service emails about account creation, purchased credits, and refunds. Google Gemini processes the uploaded file to produce the OCR result. Polar handles paid checkout and payment data; OCRphoto does not store card details. PostHog, in the EU, measures visits and product steps (upload, extraction, copy or download, sign-up, checkout) through this domain; it keeps a random id in a cookie in your browser and never receives your files or the extracted text. We do not sell uploaded documents or extracted text.
Your choices
Do not upload documents you are not authorized to process. Avoid submitting especially sensitive material unless this short retention model is appropriate for your use case.
