OCRphoto returns the text from a blurred image as editable characters. It does not hand back a sharpened picture, so use it when what you actually need is to know what the writing says. For most people searching for a way to unblur text, that is the real goal.

Blur removes information, so nothing can restore what is no longer in the file. What helps is giving the model as much of the remaining signal as possible: start from the original file rather than a forwarded copy, crop tightly around the passage, and enlarge that crop before uploading.

If the detail genuinely is not there, OCRphoto says the text is too blurry to read rather than guessing. That matters more than it sounds, because an invented but fluent-looking result is worse than no result when you are reading an account number or a dose.

Can you really unblur text in an image?

OCRphoto recovers the words as text when enough detail survives in the file. It does not produce a deblurred version of the picture, and no tool can restore detail that the blur removed.

What happens if the text is too blurry?

You get a clear message that the text is too blurry, dark, small, or cropped to read reliably. OCRphoto does not invent a plausible-looking transcription to fill the gap.

How can I improve my chances?

Use the original file rather than a screenshot or forwarded copy, crop close to the words, enlarge the crop, and raise the contrast slightly before uploading.

Can it read text that was blurred on purpose?

No. Text blurred or pixelated to redact a password, address, or account number is meant to be unrecoverable, and OCRphoto will not attempt to reconstruct it.
